PRCA PRO RODEO PAINTS THE STAMPEDE PINK

Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night sponsored by Banner Health/NCMC brought in over 6,500 pink clad spectators during the first rodeo performance of the PRCA Rodeo Series. Proceeds from Tough Enough to Wear Pink t-shirts and Frisbee Toss challenge helped raise money for Banner Health/NCMC Breast Center.

Listed as a Top-25 Pro Rodeo according to purse size, the Stampede is famous for having a top-notch performance. The Greeley Stampede Rodeo features eight exciting events during every performance: Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Steer Wrestling, Tie-Down Roping, Barrel Racing, Mutton Bustin', and Bull Riding.

Top contestants for tonight’s performance:

  • Bareback Riding – Clayton Biglow riding Half Moon – score: 81
  • Steer Wrestling – Royce Johnsone – time: 5.1
  • Team Roping –Erich Rogers and Cory Petska– time: 4.9
  • Saddle Bronc Riding – Brody Cress riding Nutrena’s Dillinger – score: 85
  • Tie Down Roping – Marcus Costas – time: 9.3
  • Mutton Bustin – Cody Mcdonald – score: 85
  • Barrel Racing – Ericka Nelson – time: 17.21
  • Bull Riding – Brody Yeary riding Captain Crunch – score: 85.5

The second of six PRCA Rodeo performances is on Wednesday, June 28, Man Up Crusade Day sponsored by Cargill. Wear purple to support domestic violence awareness. ABOUT THE GREELEY STAMPEDE: The Greeley Stampede, a 501(c)4 nonprofit corporation, is the Colorado’s premiere summer western celebration. This longstanding event has grown in diversity and popularity since its inception and has provided music and rodeo entertainment to hundreds of thousands of people every summer. The Stampede was inducted in the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2014 and the event was named 2015 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA) Mountain States Large Rodeo of the Year.
