Miss Rodeo America coming to the Stampede

06/17/2016
Katherine Merck, of Spokane, Washington, was selected as Miss Rodeo America 2016 after a week-long competition during the 2015 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. She will be visiting the Greeley Stampede Monday, June 27 through Thursday, June 30 and making appearances around town in conjunction with the Miss Rodeo Colorado pageant.

Miss Rodeo America will have nightly autograph sessions after the PRCA Pro Rodeos, be a special guest in the daily parade in the park at 6pm, and make a special appearance at Rodeo 101 in the Kids Korral on Wednesday, June 29 at 6pm.

“It has been many years since Miss Rodeo America visited the Greeley Stampede,” said Justin Watada, Stampede General Manager. “We have been fortunate to have Miss Rodeo Colorado as an ambassador since 1990. It will be fun to see the two of them together for our 95th annual event. Madelaine has been the ideal ambassador and coupled with Miss Rodeo America for a few days will bring an extra special glow to the Stampede.”

Madelaine Mills is the 2016 Miss Rodeo Colorado and was recently featured in the Greeley Unexpected campaign for the Greeley Stampede.

The Miss Rodeo America organization spans the country, bringing together rodeo enthusiasts for the yearly pageant and competition to select and crown Miss Rodeo America from among America’s state rodeo queens. For over 60 years, Miss Rodeo America has traveled the length and breadth of our country, promoting the sport of rodeo and the western way of life.

Greeley Stampede rodeo tickets are available online for $15-$25 at www.greeleystampede.org, at the Stampede Ticket Office open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm in June, by calling 970-356-7787 and at all Colorado King Soopers.
