STAMPEDE DAY THREE: FROM KIDS TEARING UP THE DIRT TO MUSICIANS ROCKIN OUT!

June 28, 2014 (GREELEY, CO) If I created one second videos of Saturday’s events at the Stampede and put them all together, I’d have an hour long program. The day started out beautifully with the Kids Rodeo (I use the term Kids loosely, being that some of them are in their late teens) and ended with Winger on the Free Stage playing one hit after another.

The Kids Rodeo Champions were awarded their Belt Buckles, by Kevin Rich, at the end of the event to applause of many onlookers. A complete listing of scores and placements will be posted at Greeleystampede.org.

The Stampede brought back the Murder Mystery to Centennial Village for the second year in a row. This year it was Western themed and it sold out a day early.  Miss Rodeo Colorado had its second competition, BMX Pros Stunt Team and Marvelous Mutts both put on great shows in the heat of the day, the carnival spun, flipped and dizzified many carnival goers, and of course food was had by all.

Rock legends Winger packed the Free Stage area with both the young and old with hits that made us all feel “Seventeen” again.  On the Arena Stage the amazing sounds of Three Days Grace with songs like “Painkiller” couldn’t be contained within the Arena Walls and the 8,000 rockin’ fans.  They truly brought down the house.

On tap for Sunday, June 29: at 8:00 am is a Pancake Breakfast in the Stampede Saloon, Cowboy Church will take place in the Stampede Arena starting at 9:00 am.  The park will open at 11:00 am and Richie Law will close it down at 1:00 am on the Free Stage.

At 1:00 pm the first of five days of PRCA PRO Rodeos and the Championship Finals will get started with top contenders in each of the fields. The daily promotion for Sunday, June 29 is “First Responders Day.”  First Responder’s will receive free park admission and a seat at the PRCA rodeo, in the north grandstands by showing a badge or ID, or coming in uniform.

A quick turnaround in the arena for the last concert of the Stampede’s first weekend, when the country artist that’s considered by many a “Happy go lucky” singer who wants his audience to walk away from his concerts happy, Billy Currington with LoCash Cowboys hit the stage at 8:00 pm.

Don’t forget, buy tickets to all other 2014 Greeley Stampede events by calling 970-356-7787 or online at GreeleyStampede.org.  Ticket Office is open 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m., daily during the event.
