Having something fun to do is easy at the Greeley Stampede, and has been for more than 85 years! Every day of the western celebration has something for the Northern Colorado community to do. From being shot up into the air on the Ejection Seat to sipping lemonade by the Free Stage, there's something for everyone.

But the EVENTS are what make it exciting! Of course we bring the top cowboys in Pro Rodeo and top entertainers in country-western music -- but take a look through this area of the web site to find out everything else we offer! There is probably something here you didn't even know about!

Opening Night & July 4th Fireworks

The Greeley Stampede puts on one of the largest fireworks shows in the region. It has become a tradition to spend the 4th of July at Island Grove Park, viewing the fireworks production directly after the evening's concert.

Demolition Derby

The Stampede Demolition Derby has tons of car crashing, engine revving, dirt-flying fun with more than 100 drivers. This multi-heat demo derby is an annual favorite for the Stampede and has been sold out for most of the past decade. Be sure to get your tickets now as they are selling fast. Pictured here is the always fun compact car heat, where they go in compact, but they come out compacted!

New this year will be an earlier start so you can swing by the food court for lunch and enjoy some music, then head into the arena for some metal bashing fun! The 2010 Demolition Derby will be on Sunday, June 27th at 2:00 pm. Click on the "Ticket Info" button above for tickets and more information. To register to be a participant, contact the Stampede office at 970-356-7787.

Western Art Show

The Greeley Stampede has something for everyone. Since it's inception, the Stampede Western Invitational Art Exhibit & Sale has brought some of the finest western art in the country to Greeley for our western celebration.

Thanks to the dedication of show co-chairs, Mike & Nomie Ketterling and many other volunteers, specifically show co-founders WJ “Tuffy” and Shirley Holland, the art show is gaining recognition from national art publications, artists and collector’s alike. The passion for quality art in this community keeps the show going.

The Art Show is open every day of the Stampede, and is free to the public. Children must be accompanied by an adult, but are encouraged to see the fantastic art on display. The Opening Night Gala will be held on Thursday, June 24th in the evening and many of the artists will be in attendance. Tickets are just $40 per person ($50 at the door) and can be purchased through the Stampede box office at 970-356-7787.

The Stampede Committee has long been committed to the idea that our people need education to help them succeed in their lives. In an effort to support higher education goals, the Stampede Committee has created opportunities to help raise monies for Stampede Scholarship Fund with an annual Stampede Western Invitational Art Exhibit and Sale.

Stampede Committee Purchase

Each year the Stampede Committee selects works of art as the “Committee Purchase.” This selection is chosen to be used in the following years promotional materials, including marketing and the show’s commemorative poster. Pictured here is the 2010 Art Show poster featuring the 2009 Committee Purchase, "Roping Horse" by Cathy Sheeter.

Kids Activities

It's great to be a kid at the Greeley Stampede. There are so many choices available from the Bill Hames Carnival to the various food vendors. With a petting zoo, play structures and music; the Greeley Stampede Children's Area is just the place. Plus, there's a Kids Rodeo for the more serious kids!

Stick Horse Rodeo

The Greeley Stampede Stick Horse Rodeo was a great time. The rodeo features 30 cowboys and cowgirls ages 3-5 participating in three rodeo events: calf roping, barrel racing & bareback bronc riding.
